Established in 1871 in Uonuma, Niigata, Takachiyo Shuzo is located at the foot of Makihata mountain. They brew 100% by hand using snow melt filtered through springs.

After brewing, the precious sake is separated from the spent rice through gravity only. There is no squeezing or pressing which would increase yield but also bitterness. Only the middle of the batch is bottled here and sent mostly to competitions. One of the best Niigata sake ever made.

Serve chilled in a white wine glass with enough room to really appreciate the big aroma. Nice as an aperitif or with salads.
